Many processes are characterized by a complex interaction between a structure and a fluid with a free surface. This is the case, for example, when waves hit a ship and cause sloshing movements in the fuel tanks. With the help of MESHFREE, we can identify optimization potential in the early stages of design.

Particularly Important Features Are:

  • Preparation and set-up time for a simulation are reduced to a minimum – only a surface triangulation of the geometry must be available.
  • The point cloud used for discretization of the fluid is generated automatically – including spatial and temporal refinement depending on simulation results.
  • Complex interactions between fluid and structure are efficiently simulated with MESHFREE using multiphase coupling – from rigid bodies to deformable structures.
